Korean Government Scholarship (GKS/KGSP)

Nepali citizens under 25 (undergraduate) or under 40 (graduate) with a GPA of 2.64/4.0 or higher. Nepal is on the list of eligible countries. Apply through the Korean Embassy in Kathmandu or via a Korean university directly.

About the Scholarship

The Global Korea Scholarship (GKS), also known as KGSP, is the South Korean government's flagship scholarship program for international students. Nepal is included in the list of eligible countries, making this one of the most accessible fully funded opportunities for Nepali students.

Recipients study at one of 66 designated Korean universities with all costs covered.

What's Covered

Full tuition, a monthly living stipend, return airfare, Korean language training (1 year), medical insurance, and a one-time settlement allowance of ₩200,000.

Two Application Tracks

Embassy Track: Apply through the Korean Embassy in Kathmandu. The Embassy conducts its own selection process and forwards nominees to NIIED.

University Track: Apply directly to a GKS-participating Korean university, which then nominates you. Check each university's deadline separately.
