Privacy policy

What we collect

Anonymous analytics via a self-hosted Umami instance (page view, referrer, approximate country, device type). No cookies that can identify you personally. We do not use Google Analytics.

When you submit a form (counseling request, data correction report, newsletter signup), we store the information you typed — name, email, phone, WhatsApp, and whatever notes you provided — in our Postgres database.

For abuse prevention, we also store a hash of your IP address and your user-agent string when you submit a form. We do not store the raw IP.

How we use it

We use your contact information only to reply to you and follow up on your request. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties except where required to operate the service (e.g., our hosting provider Hetzner, our email provider Resend).

We do not send marketing emails unless you explicitly subscribe to a newsletter.

How long we keep it

Counseling leads and data correction reports are kept indefinitely unless you ask us to delete them. Anonymous analytics are kept for 12 months and then aggregated.

Your rights

Under the Nepal Individual Privacy Act 2075 (2018), you have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Email hello@studination.com with the subject line “Privacy request” and we will respond within 14 days.

If you are in the European Union or UK, you additionally have rights under the GDPR, including data portability. The same email address handles GDPR requests.

We will never ask you for a password, credit card number, or government ID over email. If someone claiming to be from Studination asks for these, please report it.

Children

Our services are intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

When we update this policy, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be announced via a banner on the homepage for at least 30 days.
