Keio University

Keio University is Japan's oldest private university, founded by Yukichi Fukuzawa in 1858, and ranked QS #195 globally (2025). Located primarily at its historic Mita campus in Minato, Tokyo, Keio is one of Japan's most prestigious private institutions — the Waseda-Keio rivalry mirrors Oxford-Cambridge in Japanese higher education culture.
