Document Attestation Tracker
The complete roadmap for stamping your documents in Nepal.
Document Attestation Tracker
Nepal is not a Hague Apostille signatory. Academic documents must go through a government-verified chain before foreign embassies or universities accept them.
Do you need attestation? Select your destination
Attestation requirements differ by country โ and for some countries like Canada and USA, the visa does not require attestation, but universities might.
Select your destination above to see exactly how many steps you need and whether your visa requires them.

Notary Public
Notarise photocopies of your original academic documents. The notary certifies that the photocopy is a true copy of the original.
Tips
- โCarry both originals AND clean photocopies โ the notary stamps the photocopies.
- โIf any document is in Nepali (e.g. citizenship certificate), get an English translation done first.
- โEnsure the notary's seal and signature are clearly visible on every page.

- 2
Track Your Progress
Click the checkmarks as you complete each step to keep track of where your documents currently are.
- 3
Avoid Delays
Read the Pro Tips for each step. Knowing when to go and what to bring saves you days of waiting in government lines.
Methodology: This guide is based on the current processes mandated by the Government of Nepal's Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) and the Department of Consular Services (MoFA). Fees and processing times are estimates and may change. Always check the official nepalconsular.gov.np portal for the latest updates.
